The La-5F fighter is a further development of the good, constantly improved, but somewhat seriously flawed La-5 aircraft designed by the Lavochkin Design Bureau, which began serial production in April 1942. In the autumn, the M-80 engine installed on the La-5 was significantly improved and received the designation "M-82F," and in December of the same year, these engines began to be installed on new fighters. Aircraft with the new engines were designated "La-5F," and their characteristics differed greatly from their predecessors. Some future Heroes of the Soviet Union achieved many of their victories in these aircraft. You can assemble models of the fighters flown by two of them—Ivan Kozhedub and Ivan Sytov—from this edition. Yes, that's right—two complete models. A complex model of a simple aircraft. To be honest: a model that was supposed to be manageable even for a beginner turned out to be challenging enough to give even an experienced modeler a run for their money.
