In 1950, the Council of Ministers of the USSR decided to build an experimental series of 15 GM-1 helicopters, which later received the designation Mi-1. The helicopters were produced at Moscow Plant No. 3. The following year, these machines were publicly displayed during an air parade at the Tushino airfield. However, mass production of the helicopter was repeatedly delayed due to the underestimation of helicopters by high-ranking officials in the Armed Forces of the USSR. It was only after the United States reported the successful use of rotary-wing aircraft in the Korean War that things began to move forward. During production, the Mi-1 was constantly improved. This is a beautifully designed and detailed model of the helicopter with exemplary graphic instructions.
