Tools needed for assembling scale models

1. Modeling knife

One of the most important tools is a sharp modeling knife. It is used for carefully cutting parts from sprues and removing flash. It is recommended to use knives with replaceable blades to always have a sharp tool at hand.

2. Tweezers

Tweezers are necessary for working with small parts that are difficult to hold with your fingers. They help to precisely place and secure parts on the model.

3. Files and sanding sticks

After cutting out the parts, there are often irregularities and burrs left. Files and sanding sticks will help smooth these surfaces and prepare the parts for assembly and painting.

4. Model glue

There are several types of model glue, including liquid glue, gel, and cyanoacrylate-based glue (super glue). Each has its own advantages and is used depending on the type of material and the size of the parts.

5. Brushes and airbrush

For painting models, you will need brushes of different sizes and shapes. Airbrushes allow you to apply paint evenly and create smooth color transitions. Don't forget about paints and thinners as well.

6. Masking tape

Masking tape is used to protect certain areas of the model from paint. This is especially important when creating complex camouflage patterns and other detailed designs.

7. Pin vise and magnifying glass

For working with small parts and precise painting, it is useful to have a pin vise or a magnifying glass. They will help you see small elements better and avoid mistakes.

8. Organizers and storage containers

For convenience in work and storage of parts, use organizers and containers. This will help you keep your workspace tidy and quickly find the necessary tools and parts.
