The main sanitary van of the US Army in WWII was the Dodge WC-54, which was part of the T-214 family with a payload capacity of 3/4 ton. The chassis had an extended base and an enclosed body with a capacity of 4 - 7 wounded plus a medic and a driver. During the period 1942-44, 26,002 vehicles of this modification were produced. They were operated in the US Army until 1953 and were actively used in World War II and the Korean War. In the armies of other countries, they were used until the 1960s.
