The T-90 is Russia's main battle tank, considered the 3rd generation of modern times. The first prototypes of this vehicle were produced at the turn of the 1980s and 1990s, and production of the vehicle began in 1993. In its basic version (T-90), the tank's combat weight reaches 46 tons. Propulsion is provided by a single diesel engine W-84MS with 840 hp. The primary armament is a 125 mm 2A46M smoothbore gun, while the secondary armament consists of a 7.62 mm PKMT machine gun and a 12.7 mm Kord machine gun. In 2016, the unit price of the T-90MS was estimated at approximately USD 4.6 million.

Leopard 2 is a modern third-generation German main battle tank. The first prototypes of the vehicle were produced in 1973, and serial production, which began in 1979, continues to this day. So far (as of 2018), 3,480 tanks of this type have been produced. The Leopard 2 is powered by a 1,500 hp MTU MB 873 Ka 501 engine. The vehicle is armed with a single 120 mm Rheinmetall Rh-M-120 gun and two 7.62 mm MG3 machine guns.
