The M1 Abrams is a modern third-generation American main battle tank. The first prototypes of the vehicle were created in the 1970s, and serial production, which began in 1979, continues to this day. So far (as of 2018), approximately 10,500 tanks of this type have been produced. The M1 Abrams is powered by an Avco Lycoming AGT-1500C 1500 hp turboshaft (turbine) engine. The vehicle is armed with a 105 mm M68A1 tank gun in the M1 version and a 120 mm M256 tank gun in the M1A1 and later versions. Additional armament includes one 12.7 mm machine gun and two 7.62 mm M240 machine guns.

This model represents the T-34 tank, developed at the Ural Tank Plant No. 183 (Nizhny Tagil) at the end of 1942. The tank's turret had a new, improved regular hexagonal shape, which earned it the nickname "hexagonal" or "nut turret." The new turret featured a larger internal volume but remained cramped and still accommodated only two crew members. Its main armament was the 76-mm F-34 gun.

Since the end of 1942, a new five-speed gearbox with constant mesh gears began to be installed on the T-34. This modification remained on the assembly line until the spring of 1944. A total of about 20,000 units were produced.

A model of the German super-heavy tank "Maus" in 1/100 scale will be a worthy addition to any collection of miniature armored vehicles. The appearance of the model precisely matches the prototype, and the carefully engineered parts, created using the latest technologies, fit together perfectly. As usual, this model is assembled with a "snap-fit" method, so no glue is required during assembly.

IS-4 is a Soviet heavy tank that was adopted into service in April 1946. It was mass-produced from 1947 to 1949. For the mid-1940s, the tank had excellent armor protection. At the time it was adopted, no tank gun could penetrate it from a distance of 1,000 meters. One of the features of the vehicle was its original ammunition stowage. In the IS-4, shells were placed in special metal cassettes.

Historical reference: The T-3 modification was produced from February to April 1943. This tank was intended for use in street fighting. The tank did not make a significant contribution to combat operations. There is very little documentation about its use. 41 such vehicles took part in the battles near Kursk in 1943.

The PaK 97/38 was a German anti-tank gun used during World War II. It was developed using the barrel of the famous French 75 mm Mle 1897 gun. Many of these guns were captured after the invasion of France and proved to be a valid, quick, and relatively inexpensive solution to equip German anti-tank troops with a more powerful weapon than the now outdated 37 mm PaK 36, which was no longer capable of penetrating the armor of more modern and robust Soviet tanks such as the KV-1 and the T-34. It could fire a decent variety of ammunition types and was also used by numerous anti-tank units of other Axis countries allied with Germany. Its operational performance was later surpassed by the more modern and up-to-date 75 mm PaK 40.

The Soviet main battle tank T-62 was the world’s first mass-produced tank with a smoothbore gun, and had the weight of a medium tank while offering a high level of armor protection. The tank, which was a development of the T-55 model, was equipped with a 115-millimeter U-5TS gun. From 1962 to 1975, more than 20,000 units were produced in the USSR.
